We can’t give you a flying car, but this next trip is pretty close to exactly that. There is a fast, main road (SS652) from Fossacesia beach leading to Roccaraso ski resort. The road slowly rises in height until the hills stop and fall into the lake below. To continue the gentle slope upwards, they created a bridge linking the two sides of the valley, stretching 1000 meters and 100 meters high. It feels like you are flying over Lake Bomba and Villa Santa Maria with the most amazing mountain setting in the distance. Once you have flown over the town, why not drive down and take a visit. It offers some quirky but appealing narrow streets, churches and rocky cliffs. From the town looking up, the viaduct dominates the sky 100 meters above.
