Travel
Abruzzo is located in Central Italy. It stretches from the heart of Apennines to the Adriatic Sea. The beaches are long and sandy to the north and there are pebbly beaches to the south. The small villages in Abruzzo are very charming and a part of many “touristic routes” in Italy. The provinces of the regions are: L’Aquila (regional capital), Pescara, Teramo and Chieti.
Motorways
There are 3 main motorways that connect Abruzzo with the rest of the Italian cities. To drive on the motorway you will be charged a toll for your journey.
A14 – This motorways runs from Bologna into the North, through Bari into the South and it also runs through each of Abruzzo’s coastal provinces
A24 – This motorway runs from Rome through Teramo via L’Aquila
A25 – This runs from L’Aquila to Pescara
Airports
There are three main airports from where you can get to Abruzzo, two in Rome and one in Pescara.
Pescara’s Airport is located in Abruzzo and it is served by low-cost flights such as RyanAir. The airport is located 3km from the city Pescara. You can fly direct to Abruzzo from many European cities such as London, Paris, Barcelona, Brussels, Bucharest, Frankfurt, Eindhoven, Oslo, Prague and Tirana. From the Airport you can hire a taxi, it will take 10 minutes’ drive to Pescara centre. You can catch the bus, which is a cheaper way to get to Pescara centre. The coach n. 38 or 8 goes from Pescara Airport terminal to Pescara Centre every 15 minutes. From Pescara Centre you can go to the train station (the bus terminal is outside the train station)
and catch the Bus (CLICK HERE) or the Train (CLICK HERE) to Lanciano. The journey from Pescara to Lanciano will take one hour by bus and 45 minutes by train.

From Rome Fiumicino Airport you can catch four different busses. Clikbus who have multiple departures per day.ProntoBus goes 4 times a day.DiCarloBus, it goes twice daily.FlixBus who have multiple departures per day. Both to and from Rome.
Both of the Airports busses are directed to Pescara and after that to Lanciano. In Lanciano there are 2 bus stops, the first one is at Polycenter and you need a taxi to go from there. The second one is Lanciano Terminal bus (Center of Lanciano) but only Clikbus have that stop.

How to get from Naples airport to Lanciano
From The airport, you can take the bus to Napoli metro park every 30 minutes and takes 19 min.
Then take the bus from Naples Metro park Central Parking to Pescara Terminal Bus (Pescara Centrale)

Takes 7 hours with FlixBus from the airport to Lanciano with one change in Foggia

How to get from Ancona airport to Lanciano
Takes 2 hours with FlixBus from Ancona to Pescara centrale. Between 1 and 3 departures per day.
TRAVEL IN LANCIANO AND SURROUNDINGS
Once in Lanciano the best way to move is by public transport or on foot.

The closest beaches to Lanciano are San Vito Chietino and Fossacesia

You can get there by Bus
(there are 2 bus stops, If you want to visit the small village, get off at Piazza Fantini, If you want to go down to the sea, get off at the SS 16 Ex Stazione stop)

There are 3 station in Pescara, the most important is Pescara Centrale (Pescara Center)
If you want to go to the Airport, from Pescara Centrale, take the bus line 38 or 8 which runs every 15/20 minutes

HOW TO GET TO ROME AND AIRPORTS FIUMICINO OR CIAMPINO
The best way to get to Rome from Lanciano is by Bus.
We suggest taking Clickbus which starts from the center of Lanciano (Click Here)
Or ProntoBus which starts from the Polycenter supermarket and will need to reach it by Taxi (Mauriziotour)
If you want to go to the center of Rome, you have to set the destination in Roma Tiburtina which does not take you to the airport (From the center of Rome to the airport, there are several services that can take you to Ciampino or Fiumicino airport, but you have to ask there). If you want to go to the Roma airport directly from Lanciano, type Roma Ciampino or Rome Fiumicino).
